Nintendo Switch Christmas 2020 Deals

 If you’re planning on buying the Switch from Amazon and are waiting for a deal, you may miss it completely. It’s so popular this year it’s NOT going on sale and it’s currently BACKORDERED unto DECEMBER 20!! 

Just FYI! I know other stores get random stock but it’s hard to find right now. I would NOT expect it or any other popular gaming console to drop in price. Most stores have extended return policies as well if you do magically find it lower (and please let me know if you do!!). I’ll come back and edit this post if I find it other places.

.The Nintendo Switch is $300, and comes with the tablet-like system, two Joy-Con controllers, and a dock. The Switch Lite is $200, and comes on its own (with controls built into the system). It's a 50 percent price increase for the regular Switch from the Switch Lite. Here's why.

The Switch Difference

The original Switch is designed to flip between home console and gaming handheld with ease. You plug it into its dock so it will display on your TV, or snap the Joy-Cons to the side of the system and remove it from the dock so you can use it like a standalone portable game system. That's the "Switch" part.

The Switch Lite doesn't switch. It only functions as a gaming handheld, and has no TV output. If you plug it into the Switch dock, you won't get the system on your TV (and you might scratch your screen in the process). The extra $100 of the Nintendo Switch gives you that home console functionality with TV output. Think of Nintendo Gameboys of when you were a kid.

Black Friday Bundle Deals 

Nintendo Switch bundle that includes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a three-month Switch Online Membership, all for the regular price of $300.

This is an especially sweet sale, because Switch deals have been virtually nonexistent through 2020, and this bundle gives you $68 in freebies: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a $60 value, plus $8 of Switch Online, which lets you play online with friends and family. So even if you're brand-new to the Switch, you can grab a Joy-Con controller and jump into a Kart race right out of the box. Then, because much of the Switch library is digital, you can download a digital version of any game your heart desires.

In principle, you won't have to wait until Black Friday for the bundle, because it's debuting at a half-dozen retailers on Sunday, Nov. 22. Of course, keep your expectations in check. It will probably be a challenge to snag a Nintendo Switch Black Friday bundle. With all the trouble Nintendo has had maintaining inventory all year, we expect this to sell out quickly.
